Judy Molland has keenly observed and actively participated in the world of education for over 25 years, both in the U.S. and in her native England. An award-winning teacher and writer, Molland is Contributing Education Editor for Dominion Parenting Media, the largest syndicate of parenting magazines in the United States. Her articles have appeared in numerous publications including Parents, Instructor, Newsday, and on Parenthood.com. Judy has taught at almost every level in the K-12 classroom, and in 2007 she brought this wealth of experience to her first book, Straight Talk About Schools Today (Free Spirit Publishing).
Along with her passion for education, Judy also has a deep love of nature. An avid hiker, backpacker, and rock climber, she takes advantage of her weekends and vacations to explore her local parks and beaches, or to venture into California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. Judy is a leader with her local chapter of the Sierra Club, and a founder of the Recycling Club at Carlmont High School. She always insists that her students recycle bottles and paper, use both sides of their paper, and pick up all their trash.
Judy has made numerous guest appearances on TV and radio, including KPIX-TV’s Bay Sunday, ABC’s View from the Bay, KGO-AM’s Ronn Owens Show and WTBQ's Shannon's Corner. The winner of several awards, including a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities, a Certificate of Appreciation from the California Department of Education, and a Gold Award for Editorial Excellence from Parenting Publications of America, Molland is truly an expert in the field of K-12 education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Hull, U.K., and a Diploma in Education from the University of London, U.K.
